Mary Frances Welch, 92, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord July 28th, 2020. 

 

Mary was born to Ethel Faye Caldwell Black on March 19th, 1928 in Smith County, Texas. She spent her childhood in Tyler and Itasca, Texas. She later married and moved to Tarrant County where she spent the remainder of her life, residing in Fort Worth, Hurst and Bedford, Texas.

 

In her mid-forties she completed her GED and received a certificate in Food Service Management from Tarrant County Community College. She worked for 20 years for HEB-ISD and retired in 1993. She spent her last years as a resident of Bishop Davies Nursing Center. Her family is grateful for the care and compassion she received while in their care.

 

Mary was known as a collector extraordinaire. She collected many things, but her most precious prizes were her extensive doll and hat collection. She also had a particular penchant for seashells and peculiar rocks and family and friends were always on the lookout for new treasures.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents Ethel and Willie L. Black, her husband William Tyler Welch, Sr.,  her son William Tyler Welch, Jr., her brothers Roe Morgan and Wayne Morgan and her grandson Michael Newton.


Those left to honor and celebrate her memory are her children, Charlotte Unger, James Ramsey, Marsha Ramsey, Carla Vineyard, Patricia Zost, and Nicholas Stanford.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Ellen, Timothy, Andrew, Matthew, James Jr., Chris, and Amy. She will be missed by her numerous great grandchildren, as well many other extended family members and a host of friends.
