Andrew Gerardo Elizondo

We are here to celebrate and remember the life of Andrew Gerardo Elizondo, 17, of Fort Worth, a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew and student went to be with our Lord on October 25, 2020 in Fort Worth, Tx.

He’s gone by many names including Andres and Bibis just to list a few. The name you call him by says a lot about what time in his young life you came to meet him. Andrew was born November 7, 2002 in Fort Worth, Texas by Gerardo and Alma Elizondo which he was so blessed to have been raised by alongside his sister Geraldine Elizondo here in Fort Worth. Andrew was truly one of a kind and I do not say that lightly. He was known to be a young man of many talents and gifts in his life. From the moment he could walk he’s shown interest in music and being able to master an array of instruments throughout his life. He was hardworking, charming and always a servant to those in need with the drop of a hat. He had no problem approaching strangers, that's how he made friends with a lot of people, which then became close friends as time went along. Andrew had this charm about him that allowed him to be friends with anyone. His heart did not know resentment, he was not the type to hold a grudge, he was patient and forgiving to everyone in his life, even if he found it difficult, love was a cardinal direction in him. He always chose love, even when we would not always see it. He was a natural conversation maker ever since he was little, he would have knowledge about anything and everything to where he always had something to say no matter what the topic was, with people of all ages and backgrounds. Andrew was an extremely complex being, he knew how to understand everybody else do to him being so complex, but to his family he was something much more. He would find humor in anything and there was always something to at least laugh about no matter how difficult the situation may be currently.

He genuinely enjoyed spending time with people he cared about. It truly is a rarity to find such a young person that goes the extra mile to spend time with you, just because he wanted to. There are so many words you could use to describe him but one of the first ones that come to mind is Generous, Andrew would work hard just so he could share with those he cared about. There was something special inside of him that allowed him to notice things that not everybody would. If he knew someone was in need, he would first want to offer his hand, whether it was breaking his last 20 or offering a safe place to stay, or some comfort during some hard times.

Every day he would wake up and see opportunity in many different ways, his family would call it hardheadedness, but he was relentless. Nothing was impossible to him, there was always a way for anything you truly want to achieve in his eyes, that's something that your able to admire about Andrew. He was a natural business man and was the true definition of “work smarter not harder”. He’d spend his autumn picking and packing pecans so he could sell to us for $10, he’d make scarves by hand to sell, clean up lawns and even sell cupcakes to make him some spending money. But would do it with the intention to share the fruits of his labor by always buying everyone food, paletas and offer to treat the women in his life constantly. He was selfless in every way possible.

For being a 17 year old young man he was very wise when it came to his relationship with God. He knew that there was something better for him out there, his mother and father taught him the importance and power of prayer and he truly believed that God listened whenever he would speak to him. During his personal inner conflict he would find his comfort in venting with his sister, talking about life as if he already lived it yet only being 17. He knew that no matter what direction he took, God was with him and prayers surrounded him in everyway. He would want everyone to hold on to that, and let it bring some comfort in these trying times. If you ever had the honor of hearing him speak about his relationship with God you would know that he was not worried about finding peace because he knew that is what the Lord had planned for him since the day he was born. He knew verses by heart, and he knew about the unconditional love and peace he is now embraced with, he is in the arms of the One that gave us that chance. His family had the honor of knowing, loving and cherishing him for 17 wonderful years and will continue to for the rest of their life, as he would want everyone to.

Those left behind to cherish his never ending memory are his Parents Gerardo and Alma Garcia Elizondo of Fort Worth; his sister Geraldine Elizondo of Fort Worth; his grandparents Alma and Ricardo Garcia of Fort Worth, Maria Angelica Elizondo-Gaucin and Nicasio Guacin of Fort Worth; his aunts Sandy Garcia and Julianna Velasquez; his uncles Ricardo Garcia, Jose Garcia and Gregory Gaucin, along with numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
