Susan Gerry Heaton

Susan Gerry Heaton was a tech professional who turned her early love for computers into a lifelong career. She was born in Rocky Mount, NC and later moved to Wilmington, NC and finished grade school and college there. She moved to Raleigh, NC in 1987 after graduation to find a job. Susan met her neighbor Hugh in Raleigh, NC, in 1988, and they got married on March 7, 1992. They moved to Fort Worth in 1993 because of her husband’s transfer, where she continued her career in IT, working in the home security sector before joining Microsoft six years ago. She was passionate about her work and cherished every moment at Microsoft.

She was a loving wife to Pinckney (Hugh) Heaton and a proud mom to Katherine Marie Heaton. Susan has a close and loving family, including her grandparents, siblings, and parents, Despina and George Gerry. Susan would help her mom in the bridal shop and enjoyed that business and was proud of what she learned there. She loved to go with her dad on canoeing and fishing trips and helping on his farm. In her free time, she enjoyed reading especially science fiction like Dr. Who and Star Trek.

Her husband worked for American Airlines, which gave her the opportunity to travel all around with her family. Including Hawaii, California, England, Mexico, France and back to the Carolina’s.
