Mimme Lynn Childs

Mimme Lynn Childs, 70, a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 10, 2026, in Haslet, Texas.

Mimme was born September 15, 1955, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Dennis W. Gaunt and Betty Gibble. She graduated from Muskogee High School in 1973. She enjoyed a long and successful career of over 20 years with Aviall/Boeing Distribution.

She found some of her greatest joy in being a Nana. Her grandchildren brought so much love and happiness into her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Over the last 3 years she spent a lot of time caring for them. She poured love and time into shaping and teaching her grandchildren. Mimme loved being on the lake, especially swimming and enjoying the peaceful moments surrounded by family. A proud OU fan, she never missed the excitement of college football and enjoyed cheering on her team. She also enjoyed watching golf and keeping up with her favorite players. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed putting together puzzles, reading books, and listening to audiobooks. Mimme especially enjoyed playing Wordle, always ready for the next puzzle and challenge.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dennis Gaunt and Betty Gibble, her stepdad Cecil Whalen.

Those left in honor to celebrate her memory are her son Dexter Childs and wife Jessica from Haslet, Texas, her Grandchildren Jace Childs and Emery Childs. Her Siblings Jeff Gaunt and wife Linda from Oklahoma, Cliff Gaunt and wife Jeannie from Pottsboro, Texas, Brady Gaunt from Denton, Texas, along with numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
