Macidonio "Mike" Cardenas

Sep 12, 1938 — Jun 19, 2026

Fort Worth

Macedonio “Mike” Cardenas, 87, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Macedonio was born on September 12, 1938, in Tanglewood, Texas, to Zaragoza Cardenas and Dolores Flores. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a family man through and through. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.

Macedonio was a man of faith who loved talking about God and sharing biblical wisdom with those around him. His conversations often reflected his love for the Lord and the values he held dear – family. He had a larger-than-life personality and was known for affectionately referring to himself as “The Big Wheel”, a nickname that brought smiles and laughter to family and friends.

In his earlier years of life, he enjoyed fishing on a calm lake, working on his paintings, and adding to his collection of numerous antiques. Macedonio enjoyed sharing stories throughout his years of life when spending time with his loved ones. He left a lasting impression and his memories will forever be cherished.

Macedonio was proceeded in death by his parents, Zaragoza Cardenas and Dolores Flores; his son Mike Cardenas; his sister Aurelia Cardenas and his brothers Robert Cardenas and Zaragoza Jr., AKA “Joe” Cardenas. May they rest in peace.

Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory are his daughter, Tina Garcia; grandchildren, Leslie Cardenas Arriola and husband Oscar, Jessica Garcia, Stephanie Cardenas, Michelle Cardenas, Michael Cardenas Jr., and wife Angel, Brenda Cardenas, Nicholas Cardenas, Megan Cardenas, and Jeremiah Cardenas; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Valentine Cardenas and wife Sandra, Anthony Cardenas and wife Gloria, Aurora Cardenas, and Janie Hernandez; along numerous extended family members and friends.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord he faithfully spoke about and his mother, father, and son who he missed dearly.
